Fringe Hub

The Hub is a cluster of venues centred on the Otago Museum Reserve. It includes: the Fringe Lounge, a marquee venue with stage, lighting and multiple shows; the PolsonHiggs Comedy Club, a cabaret style venue in the Otago Museum's Hutton Theatre; the Old Dunedin North Post Office, the old stone building on the corner of Albany and Great King Street; the Playhouse Theatre on Albany Street; and the University of Otago's Allen Hall and Mary Hopewell Theatres. The Mary Hopewell is perhaps the hardest to find but definitely worth the effort! It is part of the old College of Education and is located on Union Street East down near the Otago Polytechnic.

The aim of the Hub is to create an easy-to-find location for the Festival and to present a diverse and continuous stream of artistic activity for the public to enjoy. Of course, many Festival events will also take place in other places throughout Dunedin, such as the Octagon, the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, the Globe Theatre, Sammy's Entertainment Centre, among others. For more information, there's a map in our Festival Guide of all venues being used.
