THE SOUTHERN LIGHTS OPENING SPECTACULAR

Join us at the Festival Hub for an evening of breathtaking entertainment courtesy of the 2008 Dunedin Fringe. Featuring indie/alternative bands The Tweeks and Onanon, large-scale projections, and daring aerial performance by Wellington's renowned Fuse Productions. Not to be missed, their evening high-flying skills will launch the Festival in spectacular style.
FRINGE ON SUNDAY

In a nod to the world's largest arts festival - The Edinburgh Fringe - Fringe on Sunday is styled on a similar event held in our far-flung sister city. The Dunedin Fringe presents a festival showcase for all ages and persuasions featuring guest musicians ecophonic, The Alan Ibell Band, plus comedy, dance, street performance, graffiti art, food stalls and the inaugural Rapid Sculpture competition. Bring a picnic and soak up the free entertainment.

LATE NIGHT SESSIONS

Kick back at the Fringe Lounge after the evening's last show for the Late Night Sessions running from Wednesday to Saturday, both weeks of the Festival. Featuring a range of local DJs it's the perfect opportunity to meet friends and compare notes on your festival favourites.

NIGHT VISION

New Zealand's only drive-in short film festival returns with a completely new selection of short films spanning drama, comedy, documentary, animation, music video and, for the first time this year, 90 second films! Held over two nights and projected onto a large outdoor wall, Night Vision showcases a wide range of emerging filmmakers.

FRINGE AWARDS NIGHT

Celebrate 16 days of sensational entertainment at the Fringe Awards Night. Featuring music by Haunted Love and Fea Street Hustle, and compered by the dubious (but hilarious) Keith 'The Numbers' Preene, the Awards Night is a party with a purpose. A panel of judges have been assessing each act in every art form for outstanding ability and ambition. Remember to cast your own vote!
