As a figurative motif, the nude endures – a persistent, multivalent icon whose prevalence demands acknowledgement on the continuum of western art. Partnered with embodied representation, the lens produces looking as an act, a gazing mechanism that fragments, desires, amputates, eroticises and ultimately objectifies. Can the body speak back? Dare you gaze through the glass to view the space you inhabit?
